I sort of keep to myself I suppose, so I'm not sure if I can perform the license review myself since I don't have the license reviewer or admin permissions but I would like to let you know that the file is marked as an Air Force image on the source as indicated by "DoD photo by Staff Sgt. You can use this way in order to let this PD license confirm by another user. The reason is that some too much images get nominated years after upload because the source page is offline and nobody can image that this one once was created by a US governmental employee. I am confused to what I should do next to clear the deletion request of the uploaded picture. What is an OTRS? What does the author (Francesca Pfeffer) who gave me the permission to publish her image need to do? I don't want to bother her with too much administrational issues. Can I do anything for her? Frage betreffend Quellenangabe

Hallo High Contrast, Folgendes ist mir gerade aufgefallen: File:Gaz-3310 upper door.jpg hat der gute User aus einem meiner Fotos abgeleitet, nämlich File:Gaz-3310 dump-truck.jpg. Da hab eich ja nichts gegen, im Gegenteil. Aber Quelle ist dann ja wohl nicht eigenes Werk (von ihm), oder irre ich mich? Sollte ich das einfach korrigieren oder übergehe ich da das Protokoll? Hallo! Ich habe es entsprechend abgeändert. Das darfst du natürlich auch - es trifft ja voll zu, dass es ein simpler Zuschnitt deines Fotos ist. Kategorie Militärmuseum

Hallo, die vorgeschlagene neue Kategorie "Firearms..." ist untauglich. Es gibt dort nur "Firearms" (ein Artilleriegeschütz ist auch "firearm") und die Waffen rotieren zwischen zwei Museen in Full und in Reuenthal. --Bunkerfunker (talk) 10:03, 18 May 2014 (UTC)

Hallo! Die derzeitige Kategoriebezeichnung kann nicht bleiben, da auf Deutsch. Es muss auf englisch sein. Und nein, en:Firearm definiert anders. Also bleibt es beim "Firearms". Natürlilch kann es auf deutsch sein. Die Unterkategorien mit Full-Reuenthal betreffen jeweils beide Museen. Das eine ist in Full, das andere in Reuenthal. Firearms=Feuerwaffen ist nicht dasselbe wie Infanteriewaffen. Panzer-, Flugzeug- und Artilleriekanonen sind Feuerwaffen, und es gibt Infanteriewaffen, die nicht Feuerwaffen sind. --Bunkerfunker (talk) 11:50, 18 May 2014 (UTC)

Natürlich kann es nicht auf Deutsch sein. Kategoriebezeichnungen dieser Art müssen auf Commons auf Englisch sein. Außerdem: lies dir en:Firearm durch - bereits in der Einleitung wird eindeutig eine "Firearm" als portable weapon definiert. Dieser Definition wird Glauben zuerkannt als deiner persönlichen Definition.

Deletion of Wikipedia commons picture of Christine Lauterburg

Now for some reason which is not transparent to me the picture, which is authorized to be published on Wikipedia by the Swiss Photographer Francesca Pfeffer got deleted. How can I restore it to be shown again? How can I make sure it does not get deleted again? I am not a very frequent publisher of Wikipedia contributions but I did some work which I believe to be of fairly good quality about topics I think I know well enough. Is there a comprehensive description of the procedure that will let a published photograph that has the proper permission by the author undeleted. Is a verbal agreement by the autor not enough? Does the author herself has to take action? I really have no clue to where to go from now. Any kind of assistance by an more experienced volunteer is greatly appreciated.

Hmm, that's a difficult question. Mostly, such images are strictly copyrighted so that they cannot be uploaded to Commons because they are not freely available. Deleting SANY's pictures

Dear High Contrast. As I can notice, you deleted all the pictures I uploaded (I had the permissions for those pictures, as I explained it very clearly). You even left me a message warning me about the suspension of my account, namely "If I do not stop uploading files that are not free, my account will be blocked". Now it seems that we even need to send an email and explain why the pictures are legal. My message (and I wish everyone in your talk page can read it) is that thanks to people like you lots of potential editors loose interest in Wikipedia, I already found several guys like you that make the effort and satisfaction of working on this project (which was very interesting at the beginning) worthless and unsavory. Hallo High Contrast, Auch wenn die letzte Woche, so du denn mitbekommen hast was vorging, sicher die schwerste in vielen Jahren der Projektarbeit für dich hier war, solltest du dir immer im Klaren darüber sein, dass es hier sehr viele User gibt, denen du als Mensch eine Menge bedeutest. Ohne deine Motivation wäre z.B. ich sicher nie dauerhaft bei WP und Commons hängen geblieben. Anderen geht es bestimmt ähnlich. Abgesehen vom persönlichen Verlust und dem Verlust für WP und C, wenn du dich fern halten würdest: Es würde so totenstill und langweilig werden in der eh schon sehr ruhigen Ecke rund um die russische Technik. Ich würde mich sehr freuen, wie viele andere sicher auch, von dir etwas zu hören. Gerne auch per Mail über de:WP. Hi und Ho! Wow, da lief ja eine wahre Hatz gegen meinen Account. Das entging mir komplett. Einige Tage ohne dem gewöhnten Internet und dann sowas. Auch zeitliche Ressourcen sind/waren schwer verfügbar. Auch ist es so, dass kaum Zeit zu einer umfassenden Erfassung (!) zur Verfügung steht/stehen wird. Irgendiwe bezeichnend. Via VPN habe ich derzeit (kurzzeitig) wieder Kontakt zur Welt - 56k lässt grüßen. Haltlose Anschuldigungen, wie derort getätigt, stehen im Raume und die Mehrheit scheint diesen zu folgen. Eine Antwort meinerseits bzw. eine Gegendarstellung meinerseits abwarten zu wollen interessierte wohl keinen. Wenn mein Account in einigen Wochen wieder in heimatlichen Gefilden (sicherlich nicht unter den "gepasteten Ips") sein kann, dann weiß ich nicht, ob ich wieder beteiligen werde. Wiki Loves Monuments 2014 startet in Kürze

Hallo High Contrast,

in Kürze ist es wieder soweit. Der nun schon traditionelle Fotowettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments wird im September zum vierten Mal stattfinden. In ähnlicher Form hatte unlängst der Wettbewerb "Wiki Loves Earth" eine erfolgreiche Premiere. Zu allen bisherigen vier Wettbewerben haben seit 2011 gut 3000 unterschiedliche Teilnehmer (User) ihren Beitrag geleistet. Du warst dabei, und bist auch herzlich eingeladen, am bevorstehenden WLM-Wettbewerb wieder dabei zu sein.

Allein in Deutschland wurden in den letzten drei Jahren im Rahmen von WLM rund 100.000 Fotos zu den insgesamt ca. 850.000 Kulturdenkmalen bundesweit hochgeladen. Jährlich haben sich mehrere Hundert Wiki-Fotographen daran beteiligt. Auch im kommenden Denkmalmonat wird dies gewiss wieder der Fall sein. Der Tag des offenen Denkmals am 14. September bietet bundesweit vielfältige Möglichkeiten, Denkmale nicht nur von außen, sondern auch von innen zu fotografieren. Denkmallisten sind dabei ein wichtiger Orientierungspunkt und zugleich auch Ziel der Einbindung der Fotos. Auch in diesem Jahr sind wieder neue Denkmallisten hinzugekommen, die hilfreich bei der Planung von individuellen oder Gruppen-Fototouren sind und auf eine Bebilderung warten, wie z.B. zu Görlitz oder Zittau. Allein die wunderschön restaurierte Altstadt umfasst 1.800 Denkmale. Eine von WMDE geförderte WLM-Fototour nach Erfurt am Wochenende vom 29. – 31. ...by location? Deine Meinung?

Hi! Da Du an der Kategorie auch schon mal dran warst, eine Frage: diese Änderung erscheint mir nicht sinnvoll. Imho sollte Category:T-34 tanks in museums in der Hauptkategrie stehen, sonst hätte ich es nicht so eingeordnet. "by location" kann sich imo nur auf ein einzelnes Objekt bezeihen, nicht auf eine Überkategorie. D.h. ich würde Category:Chelyabinsk kolkhoznik tank monument in Category:T-34 tanks by location einordnen oder eben einzelne files, aber nicht so etwas unspezifisches. Der WLM-Countdown hat begonnen

nun ist es wieder soweit. Vom 1. bis zum 30. September findet zum fünften Mal der internationale Wettbewerb Wiki Loves Monuments statt. Im Mittelpunkt steht bekanntlich das Fotografieren von Kulturdenkmalen. Du hast an einem der letzten Fotowettbewerbe teilgenommen und wir freuen uns auf weitere Bildbeiträge von Dir.

Viele interessante Motive, nicht nur Burgen und Schlösser, sondern auch Fachwerkhäuser, Brücken und Brunnen, technische und Industriedenkmale und vieles mehr gibt es noch zu fotografieren, damit sie in der Wikipedia dokumentiert werden können. Nützliche Tipps findest du auf unserer WLM-Projektseite. Du kannst gerne individuell Fototouren durchführen oder aber Dich auch Gruppentouren anschließen. Besonders freuen wir uns auf Fotos, die Lücken in den Denkmallisten der Wikipedia ausfüllen.

Darüber hinaus kannst Du auch an der Arbeit der Jury teilnehmen, die Mitte Oktober die Fotos bewerten und die Gewinner ermitteln wird. Bis zum 15. August kannst du hier Deine Bewerbung einreichen.

Sorry for my interruption, but it is unlikely that High Contrast will answer you. According to the license plate the vehicle is registered in the nl:Département Tarn, France. Due to the design it was handed out in between of 1993 and 2004. There will be not much more around to identify anything, but usually this kind of trucks doesn't go on big trips around the world. Hope that helps a bit.
