MediaWiki talk:Titleblacklist
This page consists of regular expressions, each on a separate line, for example:
Foo <autoconfirmed|noedit|errmsg=blacklisted-testpage> [Bb]ar #No one should create page about it
There is no need to use "^" at the beginning, and "$" at the end, these are added automatically.
Each entry may also contain optional attributes, enclosed in <>
and divided by |
- autoconfirmed — only non-autoconfirmed users are unable to create/upload/move such pages
- casesensitive — don't ignore case when checking title for being blacklisted
- errmsg — the name of the message that should be displayed instead of standard
- moveonly — forbid moves but allow ordinary creation
- noedit — users are also unable to edit this page
- reupload — allow reuploads of existing blacklisted files
When the action is blocked, one of the following messages is displayed together with the filter row (as $1): titleblacklist-forbidden-edit, titleblacklist-forbidden-move, titleblacklist-forbidden-new-account or titleblacklist-forbidden-upload.
There is also MediaWiki:Titlewhitelist and a global title blacklist.

impossible to remove double extension by moving file[edit]
Can anyone help here, please? It's not allowed to remove the double extension by moving the file onto a name without the double ".jpg" because of the Titleblacklist. That's quite strange, because why has it been possible to upload the file onto this old name then? It's not better then the name without the double extension. If anyone is knowing a better name, then please move it there. --Bjarlin (talk) 18:27, 19 August 2016 (UTC)
VLC file names[edit]
{{editprotected}} Default filename for popular en:VLC media player screenshots. There's over 200 to clean up, we don't want anymore.
Format is vlcsnap-YYYY-MM-DD (part of video)
For example: vlcsnap-2016-09-19-16h48m54s202.png
A filter to block any new uploads that begin with vlcsnap- should work without causing any problems. As of writing, VLC outputs only png tiff and jpg.--JacktheHarry (talk) 15:57, 19 September 2016 (UTC)

microsoft paint names untitled[edit]
{{editprotected}} When you save anything in paint, it calls the file untitled by default. A quick search of untitled lists copious amounts of trash and unhelpful file names. My test file File:Untitled sdfho32e421.jpg was not blocked.
Would recommend blocking all uploads that begin with untitled or end with untitled.--JacktheHarry (talk) 16:26, 19 September 2016 (UTC)
